The maximum number of hours of continuing education credit that can be issued is 20.25 for individuals attending all three (3) days of the 2015 Institute including the optional luncheon.

Credit is based on 100% attendance at sessions.

 

2015 Professional Credit

Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals
Application has been made with The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board for Recognized Clock Hours (RCHs) for the 2015 Addiction Studies Institute.

**The OCDP Board is an ICRC/AODA Member Board.

Nursing
Pursuant to Ohio Board of Nursing Rule 4723-14-05 Item 6, The Addiction Studies Institute will be using credit approved by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board for Nursing CEUs. These hours will be recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing for license renewal. Nurses from states other than Ohio should check with their licensing bodies to verify they will accept this credit certificate.

Ohio Psychological
Application with The Ohio Psychological Association has been made for continuing education credit for psychologists attending the 2015 Addiction Studies Institute.

Social Work/Professional Counselor/Marriage & Family Therapy
Application has been made for continuing professional education units for social workers, professional counselors and marriage & family therapists through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.

Changing Offender Behavior (COB)
Application has been made for Changing Offender Behavior (COB) credit by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Once approved the sessions eligible for COB credit will be listed below so you can select from them when registering.

Other Professionals
A certificate of attendance will be provided for any participant requesting one.


Academic Credit


One (1) semester credit hour of undergraduate or graduate academic credit is available for Institute attendance through The Ohio State University College of Social Work. Academic course tuition and conference fees are required. Receipt of academic credit requires enrollment in Social Work 5021, attendance and completion of 25.5 hours of course work during the Institute, including a written reaction paper following completion of the Institute. In addition, students must register for the Institute and pay conference fees of $195.00 through the Institute’s website at www.addictionstudiesinstitute.com. SOCWORK 5021: Summer Institute of Addiction Studies

Two (2) semester hours of undergraduate academic credit are available for Institute attendance through the Hocking College Addiction Counseling Program. Any individual with a High School diploma or GED may enroll on a non-degree basis through Hocking College. Academic course tuition and conference fees are required. Receipt of academic credit requires attendance of 22.25 hours of course work during the Institute and a written reaction paper following completion of the Institute. 1. Institute and course registration will be managed through Hocking College.
2. Total cost of the program will be $195 for conference registration and $336 for Hocking tuition for two semester hours through Hocking College.
